The Sumoud Chronicle-#28 (based on My Covid Chronicle)-January 2-March 20, 2022

I post this set on December 21, 2024, nearly two years after I made the photographs. Today is tthe winter solstice and a few days before the major winter holidays begin. Snow fell yesterday, beloved snow, long cherished but not guaranteed because of the climate crisis. Snow fell in January 2022 and, like today’s snow, probably won’t last more than a few days. I follow the School of Honk band as well as I can, sporadically. They make a joyful noise, in this set, to celebrate Mardi Gras in front of Harvard’s Science Center. Children join them in dance. Seaport rises from the ashes of parking lots, massively more developed now than just two years ago. Sky is ever present. Will clouds exist after the possible global climate catastrophe?
